(12,182 posts)But it was a song lyric, not a serious political piece like this. Another one appropriate to a ton of the goings-on:
"Politics is the entertainment division of industry."

(24,871 posts)This was the era of the push to place warning labels on rock albums.
One movement was led by Tipper Gore.
Anyway, this is totally fun to watch, as Frank eviscerates the slick haired dipshit there to oppose him.

(8,184 posts)He knew his stuff, none of the others did. He kept telling them, "You have to get out more." Also appreciated how he told young people to register to vote and run for office.
This was great! Thank you.

(893 posts)Saw Dweezil and Moon Unit interviewed on some morning show when they were very young.
The interviewer was going on about how weird their childhood and family were.
The kids were giving monosyllabic answers in a very teen-like way.
Exasperated, the interviewer asked "Is there ANYTHING you could do that would shock your father?"
Dweezil answered "Ugh I dunno... become an accountant?".

(43,850 posts)whenever religious solicitors came to the door? He'd smile, invite them in, and put it on while they talked. Sometimes he'd sing along, very innocently. He got a lot of pleasure out of that.
He had some awful qualities, but that wasn't one of them.
