My side effect from 2nd Moderna shot - RELIEF of the extreme variety.

I got it at the end of Feb. & am venturing out to the nursery for some pretty plants to liven up this place.

I'm able to be the point person for a couple of friends & relatives who are not immune. One young man having medical needs.

I'm still wearing a double mask & using hand sanitizer, but I no longer think that every cough or ache & pain might mean my death - yes, I'm pretty stoked. I'm even getting back in the pool for my swims.

I did have some fever "the day after" but nothing that plenty of liquids, sleep, and resting didn't help. I wasn't concerned because in October, I got the flu shot that also gave me a slight fever, and figured it came with the territory. I was developing immunity!!!

1. Good for you. I hope you participated in the CDC V-Safe program. see below

VSAFE (the CDC tracking system for after-vaccine issues, whether none at all, minor, or severe). It is really really simple. They will send you a text which takes 20 seconds at most to reply every day for the first week and then weekly thereafter. Same drill for second dose.

Here is where you sign up, in case you are not aware. Please do so.

https://vsafe.cdc.gov/en/

For those who think it is not so important... This massive source of data will speed the approval of these vaccines on a regular review--nonemergent. By doing so, the military (where approx 30% are refusing) can then require the vaccine for all active duty and this is critical. They cannot require an emergency-approved vaccine to be administered currently, but once it is fully approved, they can.

Even if it has been weeks since your received your last vaccine, you can still participate, providing historical information.

felt is WELL WORTH any fever & aches/pains following the vax. Just the stress of worrying about catching Covid was not good for my mental or physical health.

And hell - now I can take some of that sweet stimulus cash and spread it around the community.

Thank you for the link - I'll do it.

I had a slight fever the day after but was fine the next morning

I have now felt comfortable going in to grocery stores and other stores. I am still masked and I use hand sanitazier. I have a trip planned in May to Walt Disney World.

First shot hurt like hell, with very mild symptoms afterwards. The second shot, I didn't even feel the needle prick until the next day and had chills the first 24 hours and all I wanted to do was sleep.
After that, I was back to my usual self. Still wearing a mask as I was told to do so.

I confess to a little bit of trepidation about physical side effects, but I am very much looking forward to the psychological and emotional ones.

I've never had a reaction to a flu shot, and my only reaction to the first Moderna was feeling like my arm had been hit by a baseball bat for a few days.

I think it's awesome that we're letting each other know about our particular situations.

I got my J & J shot on Saturday, 3/6. I was moved up in my tier because I'm an educator. I had NO side effects at all other than feeling like I was high because I was so happy and relieved - We're gettin' there!

Though now I'm working extra hard not to be careless and get exposed. It ain't over till the 2 wks after the second dose.

Fortunately my SO is older, got vaccinated 6 weeks ago and has been the designated shopper for a couple of weeks now.
