I receive SSDI.
It is direct deposited into my bank account.
I just checked the "get my payment" app at IRS, and they said a check will be mailed to me!
There are other people living in this building, and the mail is not totally secure.
Fucking GREAT.

(11,686 posts)I got the last two direct deposit and now they have no clue where mine is. I am on SSDI also. Go figure. Actually don't....I gave up on that.

(55,007 posts)it will be a debit card. at least that is what happened to me last time and it says the same as you again this time. IRS has deposted refunds in my account for decades. first stimulus was direct deposited, but the second and third are coming in stupid format.

(16,844 posts)I called someone at the IRS several weeks ago and told them to stop direct depositing money to me. They were sending money to an old account I have at a credit union that I owe money to. The lady at the IRS told me that she had taken care of it, but my stimulus check was sent to that account and they kept all of it. I thought those checks were for us to buy necessities, not pay credit card bills. I'll spare you the sad story of why I haven't paid on my credit cards. Anyway, be glad they're mailing it to you and not giving it to your creditors.

(16,844 posts)Fortunately I have someone to help me. What must it be like for people who have nobody? I consider myself lucky in that respect. I really did need that money, but I've had worse things happen to me.

(62,270 posts)...it's going to her closed Bank of America account which had similar issues with a credit card she couldn't pay off. She got the last two stimulus checks direct deposited and this one still hasn't arrived (even though I got all of mine). I really hope that's not what happened because she desperately needs it. I just gave her half of mine just to hold her over.

(16,844 posts)It seems like the people who need it the most are the ones most likely to have it snatched out of their hands. Congress should have foreseen this problem and made it illegal for creditors to take that money. You're a good son, Josh. I know you're a comfort to your mother during these hard times.

My buildings' mailboxes have also been broken into a few times. But I still check every day.

(28,075 posts)the first 2 were direct deposit as my tax refunds have been for several years.
All I can figure is it is because I had to pay in this year (another mess as I filed & paid before the Unemployment credit passed, now they will owe me money.). On the other hand, I set up an automatic payment and they still managed to find my bank account to take the money out.

(623 posts)I get mine through a representative payee. So I don't know what's going to happen. I got the first two by direct deposit.

(31,996 posts)If the IRS does not have your direct deposit info then they are going to mail your check. The IRS on their website gives you the opportunity to give them that info. If you have not done that it is on you, especially considering we have had two other of these payments.

(1,526 posts)Have not gotten this one yet.
My mother is in an assisted living facility an I have a PO box for her and take care of all of her finances.
Even though they direct deposit her SS, they have mailed her checks for both of the previous payments.
Have not seen this payment yet.
I really do not like those cards by the way, but will take whatever they are sending I guess.

(65,173 posts)My mom is on Social Security (non filer) and still gets status Not Available. Who knows when SS people will get a date. She called TD Bank to see if any deposit is pending for Wednesday. Only the Social Security is. So looks like no stimulus payment Wednesday.
And mine is still stuck on being deposited to a closed account on 3/17.
