I have friends who live in that neighborhood.

I have shopped at that grocery store...with my kids.

The Daily Camera is now reporting that six people were killed, but the Boulder police (I'm swallowing some rage right now because they lost one of their own) aren't saying.

Right now I'm pissed at the world. This shit doesn't have to happen.

Oh. And Lauren Boebert can go fuck herself.

I feel for King Soopers workers who shouldn't have to go to work wondering if some asshole with an assault rifle is going to decide to go hunting in their store that day.

No one has heard but her cell phone is not being answered so the family has headed to the Boulder police department.

I hope she is ok.

UPDATE: SHE IS OK. SEE POST BELOW.

Both of my kids went to preschool just a few blocks from that store (years ago). I'm in that neighborhood all the time.

she might have failed to bring it with her.

It also occurs to me how few people, especially younger people, memorize phone numbers anymore. So I could imagine being offered a phone by others to call family could pose a dilemma for some.

They know I'm very concerned and waiting to hear, but of course, they have many others they'll need to contact as well. Sometimes you know when bad news is coming your way and I have to think my positive feeling might be an indication that she is ok.

Just heard from my friend on her CU-Boulder-attending daughter (3AM MT) who had been trapped in King Soopers while grocery shopping.

She had been evacuated by police without her cellphone and while physically mostly ok (she injured her ankle somehow during the ordeal or evacuation), she saw much of the violence and the police were keen to interview her in detail. So, while police were able to tell the parents she was ok not too long after arriving at the police department late yesterday, they were not able to reunite until early this morning.

They are going to take her to see about her ankle this morning which is extremely swollen and likewise seek mental health counseling for her, which I think is so smart to do.

I don't have any other details, but reading through the lines I suspect she might have witnessed the killing of the police officer.

I'm happy for my friend, but this is only a single bit of consolation among a storm of horror and sadness. As was the case after Columbine, none of those present who witnessed what had happened will ever be the same again.

for all lost and injured-- physically and spiritually.

Took my sons shopping there a few years ago when we visited Boulder.

I will wager $100 that the guy who did it is a white male, conservative, Trump supporter.

Do you think they will stop on the way to jail and buy him a hamburger?
