The high of getting my vaccine scheduled is completely tempered by what happened 60 miles away

in Boulder, I live two miles from the theater shooting in Aurora, this has to stop!

1. I get you. I was in a King Soopers a mere 45 miles away about the time this happened (Ft. Collins).

I got the first alert on my cell phone as I was leaving the store.

Less than a third of people in the US own a gun. Less than a third of them own five or more. Not all of them espouse guns everywhere all the time.

That 10% or so of voters will walk through fire to vote on gun stuff and contribute to lobbies that control 538 legislators.

We need to do the same. The only thing evil needs to succeed is for good to do nothing.

3. I hear you, but I'm not close by. My husband found me an

earlier vaccine date than the April 5th date I just scheduled. I picked him up from work so happy — vaccine this Friday! Pfizer!

But talk on the radio was of a shooting, and I just assumed it was a previous podcast about Atlanta. He said it wasn’t a podcast — there must have been another shooting. So sadly shocking. Ugh, this is back to normal...?

4. I am scheduled to get my first shot on Wednesday.

I am going to go about my day as normal. We can’t predict when a murdering maniac will show up where we are, giving that, I refuse to live in fear of those people.
