I had heard he had adopted him as an adult and they look pretty close in age.
Which is something gay couples used to have to do to legally share a household.

Nestors biological father is alive and lives in Miami. Gaetz told Heavy magazine that Nestor lived with his biological father in Miami during his junior year of high school. https://heavy.com/news/nestor-galban-2/

But he could have just said that Nestor went to Panama City. He didn't have to say he "let him go".
