I'm 2 degrees from Eleanor Roosevelt, And 3 degrees from FDR

I met Pat Moynihan in 1978. He was at a local fundraiser in Auburn, NY at Riordans Restaurant. He sat next to me on a bench and spoke to me (at 12 yo) for nearly 5 minutes. He was so kind. A truly great Senator.

Anyhow, here's Pat with Eleanor Roosevelt in 1961 or 1962:



This didn't occur to me until I was today years old.

7. I don't know about that degree stuff

but I kinda met him once. I was on a dive boat going through some of the private islands in the BVI on the way to a dive site and our boat stopped at a dock to deliver mail, a bag full of it, to an older man in a bathing suit standing on his dock. When we pulled up it was all I could do to not say anything, privacy rules, he smiled and said hello and got his mail and left. We pulled out and I asked the driver if that was him and he was not allowed to say but he smiled and nodded and said that very few people recognized the people when out here on vacation. It was kinda cool and I will never forget that nobody else even knew who he was when I mentioned his name later.

Does that give me degrees to something? LOL, I never understood that game.

... aren't you just ONE degree away? I don't understand how all this works anyway, but I though the "degrees" meant the number of individuals needed to connect you to someone famous.

Lots of people share a date with famous/historical figures, but I only have Eleanor Roosevelt, not that I'm complaining!

but I guess I am 2 degrees from the Clintons since I worked for a gentleman and then his son who have/had met and where/are friendly with the Clintons(old gentleman passed away).
