They promote the false idea that the border is "wide open" and then complain that people are coming because they think the border is wide open. They literally enjoy making problems worse.

(82,849 posts)What's not clear is why the popular media repeat the lie as if it had some grounding in reality. NBC has really been flogging the "crisis" at the border, showing an intense interest in the political and humanitarian situation that they didn't show during the previous four years.

They need to better understand their viewers. Dems dont want that shit, if anything it makes us tune out even more

(9,117 posts)I drove from El Paso west to Columbus, New Mexico. No, I did not drive on I-10 between those two points, I drove along New Mexico highway 9, which is much closer. Much of highway 9 is but a stones throw away from the US-Mexican border. The dividing line on the US side looked more like the old Iron Curtain between Western Europe and the old Soviet Bloc countries: high fences, barbed wire, plowed Earth to show footprints. It was quite instructive.
