New: the DoJ has released a photo of Oath Keeper leader Stewart Rhodes just outside the Capitol on Jan. 6. He's surrounded by Oath Keepers who just were in the building.

In this pic, indicted defendant Laura Steele (circled) is standing beside Rhodes (in black cowboy hat).

Steele has been in detention since Feb. 17 & is asking for bond. But prosecutors are against her release. They argue in a new filing that she and the other 9 defendants took active part in a "conspiracy" to "stop Congress’s certification of the Electoral College vote."

DoJ says records show Steele sent three emails applying to join Oath Keepers in a single day (Jan 3-4) so she "can be verified for the Events this coming Tuesday and Weds." Also on the 4th, her brother forwarded her a message from Rhodes imploring "all Patriots" to "get to DC."

In showing her eagerness to join Oath Keepers and her active participation in events leading up to and including the entry into the Capitol, prosecutors clearly want to show her as an active and willing member of the group.

The other thrust of the DoJ's filing is to suggest that Steele may have attempted to hide evidence, what it calls "concealment" & attempts to "cover her tracks."

The FBI, for starters, was unable to find the clothing she wore on Jan. 6, but did find a "burn pit" in her yard.

Prosecutors also detail Steele deleting content and "untagging" herself on Facebook after seeing "her brother’s face as a wanted man on the news" w/in a day or 2 of Jan. 6. She also deleted more than 2 months of texts from her phone and all records of calls prior to Jan. 18.

Replying to @kenbensinger
That was abt time. Red & blue were the ones spotted inside the Capitol building. Yellow are #OathKeepers who provided PSD for Roger Stone.

Red 1 Front = Kelly Meggs
Red 6 Barbie = Connie Meggs
Red 8 Cowgirl = Laura Steele

All are charged w conspiracy amongst other offenses. Lost track, but guess all still are incarcerated pre-trial.

who have demonstrated disdain for the rule of law. Why would they honor the bond requiring that they show up for a court they consider illegitimate?
