and I am now signed up to get the Johnson & Johnson shot on Friday.
And I'm glad it's the one and done, but I'd have been happy with any of them.

(25,857 posts)Did the Dept of Health book you for T or C? That's not drastic but it's still a bit of a drive.
I'll be getting mine at the Santa Fe Place Mall, on the south side of the city. I could walk there if I wanted, as it's less than two miles away.

(3,469 posts)That's where we are now. We travel around the state. We might need to leave here before our second shot so I was trying to figure out what's going on in the counties north of us since that's the way we'll be heading. I talked to a Doctor at the health department here who said we could get the J&J as our second shot but I don't feel comfortable with that idea.
Sorry if this is a confusing post. Kind of just thinking out loud. Thanks for the info!

(58,654 posts)Wasn't so bad, some low-grade fever and fatigue feeling for about a day and a half.
It's all for a good cause, keeping me...and you healthy.

(9,444 posts)I felt it but I can't say it was painful. It was unbelievably fast. Now to wait and see if we get any of the typical reactions.

(5,172 posts)I have been trying to get her in for the longest, she has compromising health and it has taken a very long time.
But she is up in the snowy mountains of NM right now waiting for her turn

(8,914 posts)I got my first Moderna shot last Friday.
I had a headache for a day, and my arm was sore until Monday morning.

(841 posts)We signed up on a pharmacy website. There are 7 websites to search! So you just keep trying and trying.
Next Monday it opens to under 65 and it will likely get even harder to find an appointment. We've been trying for weeks. Hubby is 76, I'm in my 40 twenties.

(20,760 posts)I've been very impressed with how NM DoH has handled this - I signed up on their website immediately after I got the announcement in early February. I received updates to the effect of "Not yet, but we haven't forgotten you!" every couple of weeks, and then last Friday I got the email giving me a confirmation number and link to schedule my appointment.
I arrived 15 minutes early, anticipating the usual "wait and/or fill out paperwork" medical care protocol but NM National Guard troops directed me right into the High School gym where the vaccine clinic was set up, and routed me right to an open check-in table.
The check-in and screening took less than a minute, the trooper completed the validation sticker and card, pointed me to the next open station. I took off my jacked, offered my arm, got the jab (tiny needles they use, I barely felt it!) and was pointed to the bleachers where people were waiting 15 minutes. Sat there reading my book for 15 minutes, and left at about the time of my scheduled appointment, all done and dusted.
When I got home I found two emails in my inbox: One telling me my 15-minute waiting period was over (well, sure...) and the other giving me a confirmation code and telling me I'd be contacted to schedule my #2 shot when the appointments were available.
"Like buttah!"
relievedly,
Bright
