Bloomberg TV reporting that Manchin will not support voting rights bill without republican support

It is pretty clear now that the HR1 voting rights act is not going to happen in the Senate, and the only way to address the 42 states that have legislation to suppress voting will only happen through the Supreme Court, or winning more seats in the Senate, and maintaining the majority in the House, and the only way that will happen, in spite of those states trying to limit access to the voting booth, is to get out the vote in spite of those suppressive voting measures

If he must appease the democracy-challenged right wing, wtaf?
There’s nothing right on the right for them to offer, even if they wanted to join in.
The right is wrong.
They’ve always been wrong.
When was the last time conservatives did a damn thing for working people, poor people, or people who don’t look like they do?

Manchin is a pain in the ass.

Because I'm pretty sure there are R voters who support voting rights.

...so how the fuck does he explain his position? Saying you won't support a bill like this without Republican support is exactly equivalent to saying you don't support the bill yourself. There's no daylight between those two positions.

I am not sure of Manchin’s guiding principles. He’s been there long enough to know how Mitch works. Unless the Dems increase their majority in 2022, Manchin will continue to talk and the media will continue wasting time parsing his tortured language for clues as to his real opinions. Then he will feed them more garbage.

He is all about ego but nobody actually asks him questions or brings up things like she did.

They only ask him his opinion without challenging him in any way.
