Ive mostly seen posts about side effects for the Moderna. Anyone have side effects with Pfizer?
So far so good on this one but its only been about 5 hours.
Very well run mass vaccination site with the National Guard giving the shots.

(115,616 posts)These effects lasted less than 24 hours. Second one - sorer arm and shoulder, a little itching which went away in a few hours, slight fever, fatigue, all effects gone in 48 hours. Pretty mild both times, the worst was the aching arm.

(3,460 posts)He was very tired the day after the second shot and slept a lot that day, but then he was fine the next day. We're almost a month out from his 2nd shot.

(15,804 posts)That would definitely be max protection at that point.

(5,260 posts)Last night, a bit sore in the arm where I was jabbed. This morning, the soreness was faint. Nothing else. Feel fine.
Dh and I got ours at the same time, so hopefully neither of us have any sort of major side effects.

(37,157 posts)Went to the pharmacy for prescription refills, and they'd had no shows so asked if I'd wanted it. Having previously run up against limited slots, I said "sure."
Thats lucky!
I managed to grab our slots on Saturday morning. It seems to be fairly random- Ive checked the same mass vaccination site several times in the past few days and theyve been booked up.
But it was a well run operation.
Our state is weird- different counties have bumped up eligibility so if you qualify somewhere the you can drive to get one. We had to drive about 45 mins, but there were a ton of slots all day on Saturday for today. I think theyre pushing through hundreds an hour.

Im ok with some mild side effects if they happen. Totally worth it.

(8,014 posts)Got my first shot two weeks ago tomorrow. Some soreness around the vaccine point of entry the next day, then no other symptoms. Number 2 is set for April 5th. Two weeks after that, PARTAY!!!

(15,804 posts)One sibling and their spouse are vaccinated so we are plotting future dinners (on the porch). Same with some friends that are vaccinated. The CDC advice yesterday seemed to indicate this is fine- one house hold vaccinated socializing with one other vaccinated household.
But.. we are going to go see our youngest. He graduates a day after our second shot will provide full protection (so 2 weeks after second shot). Hes not doing the commencement- just the small honors graduation) but we want to see him!

(15,804 posts)We FaceTime with our kids and all that but its not the same.
I had a landscape architect stop by yesterday to pick something up and I left it on my porch. Both Dh and I were embracing the sunshine and working in different parts of the yard. Dh saw her car but didnt see her. I didnt see her at all.
Later we were sitting on the porch and I told him that wed missed our chances at any social interaction for the day because we didnt see her.
It does show us that we will get along just fine in retirement but the no contact thing is just painful.

(639 posts)The arm injection site pain was less than my annual quad-veriant seasonal flu shot.
I had no side effects at all.
I am also getting chemo for cancer, during the entire vaccination. I had some fatigue on my 3rd and 4th day after the 1st dose, but nothing on the 2nd dose.
I trust the vaccines. The discomfort is something nobody should use to choose wether or not to get the CoVid vaccination. The side efects are not life-threatening, they are minor considering some side effects from other medical situations, mainly those that do not involve an injection. A broken arm is worse. Using crutches is worse along with it's ankle realted pain. Pulling a tooth is far worse.
Stay committed to getting both vaccinations, you will survive the shots and you'l know you are keeping those close to you, safer.
Keeping our favorite humans safe, is one thing all humans do. Everyday. Everywhere.
Thanks for you effort.

(15,804 posts)Any side effects are better than dying of covid. So many died before, that it would be wrong to not get vaccinated.

(5,450 posts)Only had slightly sore arm each time with my 2 Pfizers. My daughter got her first Pfizer today. Over fifty here in Florida lets you register and get the vaccine. Biden has done a hell of a job getting that stuff out to us.

(11,637 posts)Arm a lot more sore, kind of achy all over for three days with second. Slightly elevated temperature, too. Today is fifth day after second shot, pretty much back to normal.

(2,396 posts)I read some people experience joint pain so I'm trying to figure out if it was a coincidence or not. I rarely have this bad of flare-up.
At any rate, it was gone after four days or so.
Otherwise, I didn't have a sore arm or anything like that. I had miniscule chills a couple times but I figured that was from not putting my two layers of woolens back on
I go for #2 on Apr 8. I went to the Oregon Convention Center and it was a well oiled machine. An EMT from the Air Force gave me mine. Since I can't stand for long periods of time, I bought a rollator and got put in the express line, which I appreciated!
