OH-11: Ocasio-Cortez endorses Nina Turner in Ohio special election

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Monday endorsed Nina Turner, the former Ohio state senator and national co-chair of Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I-Vt.) 2020 presidential campaign, in her race to represent Ohio's open 11th Congressional District.

“Nina is a bold, unapologetic progressive who has spent her entire career advocating for the working people of Northeast Ohio, and a powerful voice for progressive values and policies that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of working people across this country — like Medicare for All, a $15 minimum wage, and a Green New Deal,” Ocasio-Cortez, herself a veteran of Sanders's 2016 campaign, said in a statement.

“I need her alongside me in Congress in the fight for racial, economic, social, and environmental justice,” she added.

Turner said she was “honored” to receive the endorsement, adding that she looks forward to “working together to build a democracy where no child goes hungry, no worker earns a starvation wage, and where every business respects our planet.”

I hope a crowded field doesn't set up a scenario where Turner wins because the vote is split among so many candidates.

and close colleague Nick Brana, national coordinator of the Movement for a People’s Party. The "MPP" collapsed at its first convention, leaving Turner to look for something else to do.

She passed on running as a Green Party candidate for vice president with Jesse Ventura in 2020 and now is running for congress on the Democratic ballot for the seat her old foe Marcia Fudge has left.

With (get this!) an eye to running against President Biden for POTUS in 2024 after 2 years in the house.

(Will this be a third-party run or is she going to try to primary him?)

Brana trying to spin her unfortunate slip about how she feels about Biden and Democrats:

When she tried to primary Marcia Fudge back in 2010, that heavily black district rallied around Fudge, forcing Turner to withdraw her candidacy. J
