In some cities, those seemingly without a "homeless problem," brutality against the homeless can be unseen and unreported.

Homeless people migrate to places they won't starve, die of exposure, won't be killed or beaten by locals including the police.

Housing the homeless is possible and would cost less than ignoring the problem. We also have to accept the fact that many homeless people are simply unemployable because of mental health issues but would do well enough with a place to call their own and very minimal supervision.

Others are employed or employable but simply don't have enough money to find housing. That's why we must demand living wages along with basic incomes for those who are involuntarily unemployed or underemployed.

Like universal health care, this is not an unsolvable problem.
