General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsFor those not able to watch the Senate proceeding, Sen. Kennedy of Louisianna has just proposed an
amendment to the Paycheck Protection Program that equates all the "riots" in various cities in the past two years with the "riot" at the Capitol on January 6th. Anyone convicted of any type of felony in any of those "riots" would be denied benefits under PPP.
He then actually had the unmitigated gall to accuse those who opposed his amendment of not being "intellectually honest".

Yeah, let's treat guns like cars, with registration, confiscation, constant safety upgrades, insurance, etc.

He has chosen to be seen as a bumpkin because that's what Louisianna wants him to be.

(2,636 posts)Beside the whole false equivalency thing, it's not last summer's predominantly peaceful protesters who stormed the Capitol after receiving thousands in PPP loans. That's the Magat/Hatriots, who are statistically more likely than the average American to have filed for bankruptcy, been delinquent on mortgages, or faced other economic pressures from mismanaging their money.
I don't hear him demanding clawbacks form the actual insurgents who've already been indicted for breaching the Capitol. FUnny....
