(2,580 posts)Virtually zero reaction, wasn't even admonished to drink water. Came home, had lunch, a nap and went for my daily walk. My appointment was for 9:40, arrived 9:38, heading back to my car by 10:01-remarkably efficient.

(26,257 posts)Probably totally unrelated but it definitely wasn't my usual kind of headache. It was dull, ebbed, flowed and nothing seemed to help, much, and then suddenly it was gone.

It might be good advice, but I want to know how it's particulary important after a vaccine shot.

I appreciate that! Your first effort, that one drinks water to become hydrated, was little more than a tautology.

CDC says "To reduce discomfort from fever, drink plenty of fluids and dress lightly." That means that a person who experiences fever can drink plenty of fluids and dress lightly to reduce the discomfort, but there's no reason for people who do NOT experience fever to drink any more fluids than they normally would. Drinking fluids will not improve the efficacy of the vaccination.

(8,308 posts)Did you get it in the same arm? My first Pfizer got really sore after about 6 hours. I moved that arm around a bunch, as directed. I'm thinking I'll go with the other arm next time but curious if it makes any sort of difference.
But, hey. Good for you! Just think, a couple more weeks now and you can ease up on the precautions. Goodness knows it takes me half an hour extra prep time whenever I need to go anywhere. Gathering masks, hand sanitizer, wipes, the whole shebang. Happy Days ahead!

Good luck! Hope your outcome is great, too!

(23,926 posts)who is 65, did complain of "feeling like she'd been hit by a train" (aching muscles and joints) for a couple of days afterward, but she's now 100%.
Again, good luck!

(27,434 posts)I had no effects from the first dose The side effects from the second kicked in after about 12 hours. The worst of it was just a few hours, fever, pain, etc. Then tired and spaced out for a day, then fine.
No regrets. Glad I got it. Im 72 and have no interest in spending the rest of my life shut in and avoiding people.
Also, be sure to drink a lot of water. 😉
