(38,643 posts)Since the article is about activity that took place a year ago, when tests were scarce. Now vaccines are scarce - so when you hear about COVID-related exercise of political influence the natural asumption is that it relates to current events.

Not impressed with this attempt at creating scandal. Stick with the investigations in process and we'll "talk."

(113,973 posts)and I'm not intent on defending him either, but waiting on the results of the investigations underway. That said, your bias is way out of control. You'd have him brought up on charges for jay-walking at this point.

(96,882 posts)I DON'T "hate" Cuomo; I also don't LIKE Cuomo. I don't allow emotions to govern my opinions about political leaders. Now, I DO think that its likely that there's "there" there, and that he's a risk to keep in office in terms of winning the 2022 Election. THAT's why I think he should step down now.
Let me also note that despite my "bias" being "out of control", I wasn't the person who posted this.

(96,882 posts)If you know anything about me, you know I spend my political money where its actually needed, not where I get to "shmooze" or where someone makes an emotional appeal about beating a Republican I'm supposed to hate. Cuomo has never needed a dime for his elections, so I don't give him any.

(15,325 posts)BTW. Chris Cuomo really did have Covid
Considering the business he's in it isn't an issue except to those seeking one more knife in the back. Make it up, embellish it, lean the narrative so far Left & over the Right edge that its cheered on by Rep Elise Stefanik.
Yes. This hit piece, is leaning awfully close to RW Talking pts.
Is that the intent of this Vanity Fair writer?
----
The narrative of this shitty article is sick.
Vanity Fair has co-opted Politico's writing style now?
Truth is the writer has no damned idea what he's writing about.
It's an opinion clearly biased toward a particular political demographic for a particular result.
That's some 'I suppose 🤔' bucket of words he puked up. He should write C rated fiction for FOX News.
jimfields33
(19,382 posts)Why do you think during a pandemic, he should see his brother or mother? I havent seen a family member since January 2020 and most havent as well all over the country.
Budi
(15,325 posts)Oh yes. The Vanity Fair writer of a scab level hit piece article. Cuz he had an opinion as to "What Was Really Going On ".
RW talking pts sound exactly like this writer.
He's the Gov of NY. And as far as I recall THE ONLY ONE WHO GAVE THIS COUNTRY A SMIDGE OF HOPE TO HANG ONTO IN A CRISIS NOT SEEN BEFORE.
But whatever these sleaze writers write about, god forbid do not mention that part of Gov Cuomo's benefit to this country. EVER. That's the code they live & breathe by.
Typical of the propaganda style of writing by the Sirotas of the world.
Grind them into the dirt & hit & run.
This is some disgusting RW style writing.
Shame on Vanity Fair for printing it.
jimfields33
(19,382 posts)Still doesnt excuse him from seeing family members when it wasnt allowed.

(7,964 posts)The writer's name is Eric Lutz and it isn't hard to look up his articles:
https://www.vanityfair.com/contributor/eric-lutz
Some of his past work includes such "republican" talking point as an article about Eric Trump jumping the line for a vaccine and about Trump's big lie election conspiracy theory. Just a modicum of research would show that your charge that the "writer has no damned idea what he's writing about. It's an opinion clearly biased toward a particular political demographic for a particular result" is quite obviously just projection on your part.

But the calls for him to resign now have been waning, so it had to be resurrected.
Here he is addressing the testing of his mother and brother. It's dated March 31, 2020.

He didn't address preferential "treatment" (it was testing not treatment) because it wasn't preferential.

(67,782 posts)That's how it was done in MARCH 2020! Turns out he HAD the disease and was quarantined longer than usual for that period. Remember, this was March 2020, only weeks after the first case was diagnosed and everyone had little knowledge of what to expect or how serious it could or couldn't have been.
At that time it was thought that catching the virus was almost a death sentence.
Why are you on this one-person crusade to find dirt about Governor Cuomo? This is your second OP since last night on this same subject, and seventh post overall (out of 19)

(38,643 posts)Many people who had symptoms were unable to be tested. Diagnoses and treatment was often based on symptoms - not a positive test because tests were not yet readily available.

(57,757 posts)for the rich and connected is notable. We are told that Cuomo didn't really harass eight women because all eight of those women are liars. Democratic women are engaged in a political conspiracy to replace a Democratic governor with a Democratic Lt Governor. Or if he did do what those women say, it's no big deal, we are told. Who are they to decide who can leer at or touch their bodies? What are the rights of women compared to power and privilege? Now we see Cuomo has taken advantage of his position by affording special treatment to his extended family. One wonders what people who defend such behavior actually think they believe in? Their commitment to power and privilege for the few over equality for the many couldn't be clearer.
