I moved out of tornado alley four years ago. Such a relief not to have to live this every spring. LizBeth Mar 2021 #2
Odds are pretty low. Way lower than a car wreck. Nt USALiberal Mar 2021 #4

saw anything or get up at 2am with a couple little kids, get shoes on feet and go to basement. I love storms and only during the spring I did not enjoy them. Picking up kids from school in the afternoon and siren go off. You are right, never sucked up in the tornado once. Odds in my favor and still it was hell driving on a road not knowing where it was.

Is that a building with a veneer brick and concrete walls? Same structure as the bldg behind it? If so, wow, seems like a even more air pressure than 135MPH winds....

The tornado knocked down brick veneer walls, ripped stuff from concrete foundations, and in one picture, had snapped a wood electricity poll in two, about four feet up.

One thing that kept coming into my mind was that some of the houses that were torn apart looked fairly well built.

See the firefighters standing at ground level. The rest of the construction was probably frame with brick veneer.
