#SB202 suppresses voters, criminalizes compassion & seizes election authority from local + state officials. In 11 years, I never witnessed a massive bill approved at such speed and signed in such desperation. This wasnt efficiency or principle. This is cowardice. #gapol

Georgia Republicans want to hide their shameful actions from public scrutiny. Its Jim Crow in a suit + tie: cutting off access, adding restrictions, encouraging more show me your papers actions to challenge a citizens right to vote. Facially neutral but racially targeted. 2/
GOP legislators gave themselves the right to takeover local elections & throw out results - what they tried and failed to do in MI. They raised costs for taxpayers and forbid counties from accepting funds to cover the bill. They criminalize free water & food for those in line. 3/
Republicans passed & signed #SB202 to signal their capitulation to lies over truth. To fear over fairness. To suppression over participation. But we will not be defeated by their worst actions & instincts. We will spread the word, we will sue & we will win. For democracy. #gapol

(61,695 posts)2. We should hand out water at all voting locations. Thousands of us.
I guess I'm going to jail next year.
We should start a samaritan bail fund now

It is an outrage and will inspire nonviolent subversive acts of kindness.

... and AFTER they vote, walk to the back of the line and hand them out to people there.
