Proposal: Loaves and Fishes for Georgia Voters

I've worked all my life in foodservice. I can think of no better use of my skills than to deliver food and water to GA voters waiting in line to vote. And I'm more than willing to be arrested breaking any such law.

I'm certain many other foodservice pros and their supporters would join us, because they feel as strongly about voter rights as we do.

For 12 of my 50 years I worked in the food business, I worked for/with a non-profit to organize the production and delivery of thousands of meals a day to a large geographic area. Not nearly as large an area as Georgia. But with help I know we could cover the state with so many volunteers, breaking the evil GA law against "Loaves and Fishes" for voters in line, they could never arrest us all.

We would not even have to point out the reason we chose our name.

Please let me know what you think. And please help with any ideas you may add.

Thanks!

I'm pushing 80. I plan to be a grey haired white lady plopped out there with coolers and cases of granola bars. They can throw my wrinkly old butt in jail because they first cop who lays a hand on me is gonna get it with a fly swatter.

will be some abuse, but the legislation is aimed at soliciting votes.

Not sure what final bill says, but earlier version was: “ No person shall solicit votes in any manner or by any means or method, nor shall any person distribute or display any campaign material, nor shall any person give, offer to give, or participate in the giving of any money or gifts, including, but not limited to, food and drink, to an elector.”

While it could be abused, I doubt taking your grandmother a bottle of water is going to be a problem.

Earlier versions of Bill also required counties to ensure voter waits were minimized. Not sure where that stands.

Besides, absentee voting is almost the same as before. And the DNC and other Democratic organizations are still there to get voters out. It’s not like Democrats are as stupid and helpless as some seem to think.

Specify that you are practicing Christian works of mercy and charity.

Actually, loaves and fishes would be Jewish.

Jesus was an observant Jew.
