and I make much less than 75K. Also my taxes were done in Feb. I thought they weren't taking taxes out of it?
EDIT-FALSE ALARM. Called my boss, it was my paycheck-they paid me early by mistake. Whoops!

(10,303 posts)My "scientific wild-ass guess" is that IRS based your tax credit (aka stimulus check) on 2019s taxes and not 2020.
Worst case scenario you can get the extra tax credit when filing 2021 taxes. I'm not sure as to what to do in the interim.

Like you said, maybe I'll get a tax credit next year, perhaps something to look forward to

(21,714 posts)I don't know why they allowed this, and I don't know what the procedures would be. But creditors being able to take some of your stimulus money defeats the purpose.

(21,714 posts)Your most recent tax return. Donald tRump gets social security, do you think HE should get the entire amount? Or the billionaires? I personally don't think that Bill Gates needs a stimulus check. The billionaires have benefitted enough from the tax laws.

(21,714 posts)I wish I knew enough to tell you where to check the amount. I didn't get the whole amount either, I got a little over $700, but I have no idea of how they figured that out. I'm lucky in that I don't depend on that for my survival. I get Social Security too, but it isn't my only form of income, and I have to file a tax return.
