There will be no more Democratic victories in that State.
That is how seriously corrupt it is.

Won't be just Georgia that will be a problem.

The enemy is within or the adversarial whatever one want to call them, these fuckers can ruin democracy way quicker than Al Qaeda, Russia, isis anyone else could.

(1,379 posts)I, honestly, am looking at it compared to Wisconsin (which Im most familiar with), and I am trying to see where we can fight it.
I, in no way, am saying its ok. If thats how my post came across I apologize. I am trying to see what can be argued as unconstitutional, and where do we go from here. SCOTUS has pretty much said that States make the election laws, and unless unconstitutional they will be upheld. I am trying to see whats different in Georgia from what other states have already successfully put into law.

(16,926 posts)Other states are bad BUT THIS is way over the top! We gotta ALL be ready to fight like hell! ( i do see what you mean though, but other QTHUGLICON states will take this and run)

(102,236 posts)what is not being addressed is the piece that allows them to overrule local election boards, take the SOS out of the picture and plant partisan sycophants in to overturn election results. I am not sure how that gets pushed back except for the entire law to be overturned eventually, though the passage of the Federal bills might chip at it..

Don't think Democrats are that stupid, powerless, oblivious not to show up at polls or vote absentee.

No response from NAACP - yet.
Now would be a good time to join the New Georgia Project, the Black Voters Matter Fund and Rise Inc. if one is not a member of the NAACP. Even $5 will help.

(15,084 posts)Perhaps Georgia should have waited to pass this hideous law until after the Republicans in the Senate did their "magic" and made HR-1 and the John Lewis Act go away. They are still pending. This might give the Democrats and even possibly one or two Republicans pause enough to consent to approving these bills. Manchin says he won't vote for them unless it's bipartisan. If one R says yes, would he then agree to a filibuster change?
Interesting.
