What's the point of talking if not to lie?

In madonna's "truth or dare" movie, Warren Beatty objects to her not wanting to have a life off camera. Madonna simply replies, why? I don't want a life off camera. what's the point of living if it's not on camera?

So it is with Donnie and lying. Even after years of hearing his act daily, people still don't get it. It's not that he lies. It's not even that he lies a lot. It's that he has an entirely different approach to communication than the rest of us.

For Donnie, *whole point* of saying anything is to push a lie. The lies aren't lies like when anyone else tells a lie. Most of us tell the truth most of the time. Our lies are dodges to avoid embarrassment for ourselves or others or maybe shameful cover-ups. Donnie's lies are products he's hawking. They are his image management and his agenda. They are his product.

For him, he has no use for the truth. Even if he ever had good news to report, he would lie to amp up how great the story was or how much he personally deserved credit.

It's a completely different ontology. A different way of thinking and a different approach to communication.

And Fox News and the whole repubiklan party now share it.
