Fellow UM regents decry Michigan GOP chair for assassination, 'three witches' quipsCraig Mauger
The Detroit News, March 26, 2021
Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ron Weiser labeled the state's top Democratic officeholders "witches" and referenced "assassination" Thursday when pressed for answers about how to remove two sitting GOP congressmen.
In a video obtained by The Detroit News, Weiser made the comments while taking questions from the audience at a North Oakland Republican Club meeting. The comments quickly drew criticism from Democrats around the state, including at least two fellow regents from the University of Michigan.
Watch the video here.
Someone in the crowd asked how to unseat U.S. Reps. Fred Upton of St. Joseph and Peter Meijer of Grand Rapids Township, who were among 10 House Republicans to support the impeachment of former President Donald Trump in January. The Senate voted to acquit.

ANN ARBOR, MI - Some members of the University of Michigan Board of Regents are calling on fellow regent Ron Weiser to resign after comments he made as the head of the states Republican Party.
The calls for his resignation came following comments made by Weiser during an event for the North Oakland Republic Club Thursday, March 26, when Weiser called Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney Dana Nessel and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson the three witches and said the GOP needs to make sure they are ready for the burning at the stake. Weisers comments were captured in a video shared on social media.
Snip...
Regent Mark Bernstein said Weisers comments about Whitmer, Nessel and Benson were sexist and dangerous, disgusting and damaging to the state and UM in his call for Weiser to resign.
Bernsteins statement is included below:
His reference to Governor Whitmer, Attorney General Nessel and Secretary of State Benson as the three witches is blatantly sexist. Suggesting that the work of a political party should enable burning these three women at the stake is even worse. His reference to the assassination of members of Congress in the context of political rhetoric should have no place in any society. And Regent Weisers partisan effort to restrict our students right to vote damages democracy.

Weiser responded the party is focused on beating the "three witches" in 2022, apparently referring to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson the three statewide Democratic leaders who are up for re-election next year.
Then someone in the crowd can be heard asking about the "witches in our own party."
"Ma'am, other than assassination, I have no other way ... other than voting out. OK?" Weiser said. "You people have to go out there and support their opponents. You have to do what you need to get out the vote in those areas. That's how you beat people."

There is a critical mass tipping point where a massive wave of systemic violence from coast to coast may well occur. Where that point is is the 150 or so trillion dollar question. (the amount of actual future forward US debt when currently-mandated transfer payments are factored in on a 30 year or so event horizon)

Good people respect other people, not hurt them.
As for a man who vocalizes hurting women, he should be monitored for life.

Women, all minorities, LGBTQ athletes should boycott and sign on with other Universities. Call the U of Michigan at 734-763-5553 to voice your complaint.
