Like many others I spent months trying to get an appointment. Im only 56 but have several high risk conditions. NC wasnt opened to my group yet, but SC was. I got an appointment in SC on March 10 and scheduled the second dose for April 1. NC has since opened up for my group. Today I managed to get an appointment for Wednesday at the Walgreens 5 minutes from me! Cancelled the other appointment. They were great where I went the first time, but I wasnt looking forward to that 2 1/2 hour drive again!
I also managed to get appointments for my daughter. She gets her first jab on Wednesday too. Were a happy household!

(244 posts)Ive found its best to just keep trying CVS and Walgreens. They seem to update every few hours. They get their supply directly from the Federal Government so are not tied to the State. Im also signed up with the county and state, but they only seem to get supply weekly at most and appointments fill up within the hour. I was able to schedule one at a CVS this morning, but it was a half hour away. This afternoon the Walgreens five minutes from home opened up for Wednesday. I scheduled there and cancelled CVS. Keep trying and good luck!

(9,999 posts)exact right minute, the appointments are filled. Guess it's good that I live in an area where people are wanting the vaccine. I just want to get an appt before they open it up to the next group and it gets even more crowded.
