Just putting this out there.
I just saw him interviewed on TRMS, and once again, I'm extremely impressed.
I'm glad I donated to his campaign - both the last one and for 2022.

(11,631 posts)I do like hearing Warnock, but it would be very good for us if that distinction fell on Kamala Harris in 2028.

(16,783 posts)For he is speaking to ALL Georgia voters be they Republican or Democrat. He will be stressing he is speaking the truth for their right to vote.
Sen. Warnock will be preaching from the Pulpit in his Church and from the Senate lecturn in a manner that tugs at the moral fiber of every one jn the chamber. There are some Republican Senators who will wrestle with their religious convictions to do right by the American people. Others like McConnell, Cruz, Graham, Rick Scott, and others will harden their hearts because POWER is all they care about.
Sen.Warnock is calling us to take up the cause in our states to stop this power grab by Republican lawmakers. "We are either a democracy, or we are not. We are either American citizens with the right to vote, or we are not." Powerful words.

(32,681 posts)I didn't get it before, I thought he was a little too nice, but now I'm clinging to every word he says. He's the right man at the right time for what we're going through right now.

(13,036 posts)Barack Obama is a very unique, highly qualified candidate whose set quite a high bar, but he was also involved in local & state politics first before he ran for a senatorial seat. I'd like senator Warnock to have a bit more political experience - maybe a couple more terms in the senate where he's involved in the various committees and gains both domestic & foreign policy experience before he sets his sights on the presidency.

(3,550 posts)I really dont care about the color/ethnicity/gender of the person running for high office.
I now just want the best person for the job, dont care about anything else.
When Buttigieg, Yang, Warren, etc., I realized that I would be willing to vote for anyone, I just wanted someone that would represent the whole nation and speak in complete sentences, combined with being honest, trustworthy and competent.

(4,986 posts)hes black.
My intention was to say that he has the moral authority of a real leader, a quality I appreciate in a President, and oh, by the way, hes black.

(7,278 posts)He's got something special going on there.
The only drawback for me, is the religious factor. I'm an ardent believer in keeping God out of our politics, and though I have to tolerate religious references and such from our party leaders, I cringe with every utterance. Having said that, i didn't feel he was heavy on the religious factor in any thing I've heard him say on the floor of the Senate, in that press spray in Georgia, or his interview with Rachael. it was about Voting Rights, and saving our democracy.
I truly respect and feel inspired whenever I hear him speak.

(43,313 posts)it off somehow, which would be an insanely heavy lift and triumph), then yes, I think he would be a stronger national candidate than Harris. I know that is not at all a popular opinion, but IMHO he has greater potential to draw in the utterly crucial swing voters and swing states to a greater degree than Harris does.
This of course is all subject to so many variables and changes that will occur over the next 7 years.

(85,986 posts)...and the black church is the best political organizer in the nation.
That's because black political power evolved from the rallying of black churches in response to challenges faced by the black community, from slavery, to reconstruction, to the civil rights era, to today's fight for many of those exact same things. That was in a time when there was no actual black political force in the national legislature.
Rev. Warnock is the embodiment of today's struggles in the black communities around the nation, and he's a good and dedicated Democrat, to boot. He's borne into politics out of another dearth of representation for blacks in the Capitol which would lift their neighborhoods out of the same cycle of poverty, violence, and oppression.
I don't know about president, him having served a hot minute in the Senate...
