seems like the GA voting law will have a big impact on repub voters too. amIrite?

one suspects repubs have advantages like more voting places and voting booths, easier access to voting places, and other things, but they will have to follow the same rules regarding mail voting, drop boxes etc....and no water for them either.
Therefore they should be complaining as much as dems

offices in deep red areas, and destroy votes, but all the suppression laws will apply. Those deep red districts also have white liberals and minorities who vote Democratic, though, @1/3 is typical, and there would be occasional need to destroy votes even in those districts.

EVERYONE would be at least semi-disenfranchised and occasionally entirely. This is meant to destroy the people's right to decide. They can't get what they want just by going after black voters. That's a dangerous misconception.

As for the OP's question, we're going to pass the For the People Act, which will make most of these laws illegal, and what the courts don't take care of that's left we'll go after. As long as we have power.

PROTECT THE VOTE!

...to realize it yet.

GQP went big for Trump, so they ain't too bright.

Or, they are stone-cold racists so they LIKE the new rules, and they think they won't be affected.

In R districts the laws will be applied fully staffed with apologies and polite smiles.

In D districts ... especially non white .. the laws will be applied with underpaid, overworked staff, long lines, broken equipment, and handcuffs. If a taser can be managed more the better.

It is so crazy to me. I am trying to understand what the justification is for them making that part of it. The whole thing is disgusting but that was over the top.

a considerable amount of time to get in. Volunteers were distributing water and food. Banning those items is intended to make voting a more miserable experience, thus discouraging voters.

However, the 2020 elections were unique because of the epidemic what with capacity limits, social distancing and all. That's a lot less likely to be the case this year or in 2022.

https://www.ajc.com/politics/georgia-bill-would-shift-power-over-elections-to-gop-appointees/VPNVO2W4TBBTFKGA7Z2GZIEQEE/

Decisions about Georgia elections, such as vote counting and polling place closures, could be made by appointees of Republican state officials empowered to take over local election operations, according to a bill awaiting final votes.

Under the proposal, the Republican-controlled State Election Board would be able to replace struggling county election boards and install new management, with broad authority over elections and results.

So no, this is squarely aimed at Democrats and Democratic areas
