I'm a little tired, but I'm 75 years old, so I'm always a little tired. So, nothing really to speak of. Sore arm at the injection site, and slight additional tiredness, but I made my usual Saturday supermarket shopping trip with no problem.
So, why report this? Because people who don't have any real side effects rarely say anything. People who do have side effects tend to post more often.

(50,237 posts)He said his arm was less sore this time than the first dose. I get mine Tuesday of next week so I hope our luck holds. We are also getting Moderna.

(32,606 posts)I had my 2nd Moderna more than 2 weeks ago. I had no reaction. Not even at the injection site. Same true of first injection - no reaction.
Edit: I am older than you are.

(16,835 posts)Felt the same the day after as I did the day before. You're right, we do hear a lot more about people with side effects, but I've read that your chances of having side effects are 50/50. People shouldn't be afraid of getting their shots. There's no chance of getting Covid from it, and it's kind of your civic duty to get vaccinated, for the sake of everyone.

I was the one who felt sick.

My hubby didn't even have sore arm. He teased me maybe I got placebo 😛

(10,162 posts)My husband and I had our second shots this month. We both had Pfizer shots. I had a sore spot on my arm the first day by nightfall, and nothing out of the ordinary after that. I was a little tired the next day, but at 72....
My husband (73) had a short bought of chills and aches on the second day and took a long nap. The next day he had nothing, really by that night is was gone. He felt normal. He did have a knot at his injection site, no redness, for about 5 days.

(11,583 posts)I was expecting side effects and preparing for the worst. It didn't happened. Just minor arm soreness that came and went after a couple days. The first Pfizer shot was very painful and lasted several days.

But you can get it, like the flu. And if you do, you could transmit to someone else who isn't vaccinated yet.
We still need to mask.

(11,427 posts)Especially at flu time of year I will wear mask shopping. Last winter even after shot I caught bad flu after walking past lady that sneezed right next to me.
Other than my normal allergies and effects from second shot I haven't been sick all year. Its been nice.

(12,369 posts)I get my second Moderna Thursday and Friday I have to go on a 1300 mile road trip, so I was a little nervous, although Im 74 and the first one was a piece of cake.
Fortunately Im not driving, so I can crash in the backseat of daughters SUV if need be. This trip was scheduled before I got the vaccine date and cant be canceled due to work, but Im not really hyper concerned... I have pretty hardy Latvian genes.

(44,972 posts)That was it. I didn't need pain meds, and it went away after 24 hours. Younger people tend to have stronger side effects.

(9,055 posts)Arm pain kicked in 3.5 hours later. I moved my arm like a mad woman and pushed through the pain via stretches at night and the next day which helped relieve it. Arm pain was completely gone in about 40+ hours. It didn't really slow me down.
I felt a bit tired nothing extreme. I also had a wave of nausea, two hot dry flashes and that lasted about 5 minutes tops. This was later in the evening of the day I got the shot. I can barely count that as anything since it was quick and over with.

(4,238 posts)fearful of the 'Rona. Still cautious, but am venturing out to some of my favorite places following CDC guidelines. I expected & had some typical side effects (fever, tiredness, slight sore arm) the day after. I figured these were indicative that I was becoming immune, & gave me an excuse to eat popsicles, sleep, stay in bed and watch old movies. PLUS I cleaned my house before I got the shot, so I had a nice comfy clean house to lounge in. I sort of prepared for a possible "down" day or two. I also got fever after my flu shot in Oct. so I prepared. I got the 2nd Moderna at the end of February and am so glad I did.
Grasswire2
(13,565 posts)and you can still transmit it to other people who might not be immunized.
So we still need to mask after getting the shots.

They may not be "top"posts" but in the responses because most don't find it necessary to post "no effects"' Just like in your thread there are at least 8 responses indicating "no effect".

(9,055 posts)Bad headache, sore swollen arm, aching hips and legs/bones, bad chills, no fever though. Her 72 year old friend also had many of those symptoms from Moderna.
It came on the next day and pretty much resolved the next night.

(81,125 posts)They'd already run out of the Moderna.
After we got home, we, too, were tired - more than usual - and we both stretched out and took a nap.
And that was pretty much it.
I noticed the injection point on my upper arm was a wee bit sensitive, but not unless I actually pressed on it. It stayed that way for several days. Totally minor. And I actually forgot about it. Tested the injection spot again this morning, and nothing. The sensitivity was all gone.

(12,411 posts)Got the shot yesterday. Felt okay yesterday. Got up this morning feeling hot and tired with slightly elevated temp (98.4; usually 97.7). Wanted to be out in the cold like I was with shingrex. So tired I went back to bed around 10 am. woke up an hour later with chills. Bundled up and slept till just now. Temp is 100.1. I hope it doesn't get higher. CDC recommends fluids and light clothing for the fever, which I'm doing and don't have chills at the moment.

(9,087 posts)If you are over 65, few to no side effects. The younger you are, the more severe reaction to the 2nd shot. Intriguing when thinking about why.

(9,440 posts)Came home and my husband slept for 3 hours in his chair. I was busy doing house stuff the rest of the day. I could feel the back of my neck getting sore the way it does if I'm coming down with something and my lymph nodes swell. By evening I had a slight headache, chills, and fever. My normal temp is about 97.7°. It went up that during the night to 101.5°. Didn't sleep well at all. Took two aspirin around 4:00 am and went back to bed. Got up at 9:00 am feeling quite a bit better. Wednesday evening had a slight fever, didn't feel bad. Was pretty much back to normal on Thurs. Neither one of us had a sore arm. We're both 70.

(4,507 posts)I feel fine, aside from pain right at the injection site and a bit of shoulder and neck/upper back pain the same side.
So far, no chills or fever or tiredness, although I did have some trouble sleeping last night.
I'm 57. My 25 year daughter was sick in bed for 2 days after her second Moderna. Sucks to be young.
Tree Lady
(11,427 posts)Like your daughter. You just never know I have cousins that are in 50's and late 60's sick for 3 days. Maybe its in my genes or our immune system is good? Who knows? I have never had a reaction like that before. We all got Moderna.
People in family both my daughters and others who got Pfizer have either no reaction or arm pain.
MineralMan
(146,262 posts)so much so that am not aware of it unless I press on the injection site.

(4,507 posts)and I still have a good amount of arm pain. Which I was expecting as I had some arm pain for 2 weeks after the first shot. Not terrible but noticeable.
I have had no other symptoms.

Haven't had any side effects yet. My arm isn't even sore. I joked with the pharmacist about having to wait there 15 minutes after the shot for side affect, such as me spontaniously combusting, and she shot right back "it's only happened a couple of times so far".
My fiancee got the Moderna shot yesterday but the medico botched it and went too deep, and now her arm is sore.
