1. This poverty crisis in critical thinking has indeed become an immediate major crossroads.

I believe it could go either way to a leap in national enlightenment/cultural evolution or a descent into national/global catastrophe of unprecedented levels.

I believe it literally boils down to whether we as a nation manage to listen to the "better angels of our nature" over narrow self or tribal concerns.
