Where the doctors from the Trump Administration sit down with Dr. Gupta. The excerpts are really chilling.
Obviously, I havent seen the whole thing, but I seriously hope Gupta asks the question Why didnt you SAY anything to these people.
Its beyond me how not one would have stood up and spoken out to save lives. Ill be interested to see the full program.

I think the doctors who kept quiet should be made to sit before a review board.

(17,191 posts)Ill be interested to see if they say they were muzzled, threatened, what. How was it that they could not have warned the American people? I realize they would have lost their jobs, but none of these people are hurting for money. They were all well-established experts BEFORE Trump hired them.

(27,823 posts)Either that or he only chooses people if he can find something in their background to hold against them, should they speak out. Now he's been 'neutered', as far as official consequences are concerned. And I think his cult is starting to thin out, in numbers and ferocity. Not all, of course, but some.

(17,191 posts)But these people were established experts. I would have hoped they would have stood up to being bullied.

(17,191 posts)Maybe someone more techno savvy than I am can answer. I think you can live stream some things off of CNN, but it may require having a subscription.
Im not knowledgeable unfortunately.

(6,606 posts)Why would I want to watch them try and rehabilitate their reputations? They failed and people died.

(58,785 posts)I think they're extremely unlikely to discuss Trump/Republicans' decisions to block and refuse population awareness and mobilization, containment, control, mitigation, provider needs, research, etc x10, as long and much as possible.
Trump wants credit for "Warp Speed," but he and they knew before January. Why did they encourage people to spread the virus for months and wait until May, with deaths headed for 200,000 and research underway for months in many places around the planet, to provide government support to the search for a vaccine?
Maybe they will crack open the door to this, though, and I'll read it here first.

His 6-part series ended last week. It'll be back next season.
ETA: Just announced by CNN, next Sunday night starting at 9:00 p.m., they are running a 6-hour marathon of the entire series.

(17,191 posts)I watched it. My opinion?
It sure is a sad commentary that so many people died because a group of medical people would not stand up, speak out, walk out - whatever it took - to get the proper message out.
I watched it in the hopes that they would finally call Trump out. I didnt think they did. There was innuendo that they felt he was the problem, but nothing clear and direct. They all complimented Pence. Birx has obviously been very affected by her role, but stopped short of saying she was threatened. She said the message she delivered to individual states (via flying in Pences plane) was not allowed to be delivered nationally.
Fauci, who I have supported through all of this, even came off nonchalant in my view.
Bottom line: I reassert fully my gratefulness that Joe Biden now occupies the White House. Dr. Fauci is 80 years old and perhaps its time to start entertaining the idea of who will replace him.
