Ever Given position reports seem to have stopped on vesselfinder.com

While it was stuck, Ever Given position reports were always labeled either "just now" or "1 minute ago". Now it shows a position near the middle of the Great Bitter Lake that's labeled "35 minutes ago".

I don't know what to make of that.

south ends of the canal where the ship is to be inspected to make sure it didn't sustain any serious damage either at the time of the initial grounding or during attempts to free it.

It will undergo safety checks.

If it is out of range of one of those receivers you won't see the positions received by satellite unless you have an account on vesselfinder.com

marinetraffic.com/ shows those out of range ships with a generic identifier (cargo, tanker, etc) and no other information.

Also, I see ships out in the middle of the oceans and I don't have an account with vesselfinder.com.

Reception can be sporadic at the edges of the range. Mousing over the ships in the lake I see times that are longer than "just now"or one minute.

But I don't think it's because of not having an account with vesselfinder.com.

A vessel will quit updating and show in one position, I'll then see a vessel of the same type as a satellite fix continuing on. The vessel often re-appears sporadically as a regular fix.

I have friends who operate these receivers and the range varies with them picking up data at more than 50 miles and at times not at 20 miles.

As of 3 minutes ago it's farther north but appears to be headed toward the northeast shore of Great Bitter Lake. Did it get pulled over by the canal cops?

Maybe position reports are lagging due to a huge number of ships suddenly on the move.

How long does it take the underwater boys to inspect a 1,300 ft hull in the toxic soup of the Great Bitter Lake?
