(11,767 posts)The difference between Biden and Obama; and Trump is that Biden and Obama went out of their way to do things on the spur, or maybe they planned to be super low key, so that they could just be at those places (The Wall, a daycare, a soup kitchen, etc...) without a lot of fanfare. Trump, on the other hand, made it a point, whenever he would do something mildly pro-social, to have as much press there as possible. He's the kind of guy that would sneak away quietly to lounge and veg out but always trumpet his "charity" or "unplanned" events.
What a difference a healthy ego makes.

do not ever give him credit for anything because he did nothing to deserve it.

(11,767 posts)My opening statement was primarily about the fact that the office of President invites media attention simply as the office. You are absolutely correct that Trump never did anything for anyone without direct benefit to himself. The Puerto Rico relief (Paper Towel throwing incident) was for public relations. The El Paso shooting, posing with the baby, again ratings and pr. Trump never does anything that doesn't have a direct benefit to himself. According to old reports, he would show up at charity events, rush the mic and get his picture taken, even though he did absolutely nothing for the charity.
Like I said, Biden and Obama have done genuine, heartfelt, outreach that was designed to help people, not to generate press for themselves. They are decent human beings unlike Trump.
