What if you wanted to give some people in line a folding chair to sit on

in line to vote? Would that be allowed? I was in line for Covid testing this summer when i almost fainted. So i bought a folding chair for lineups. Will need it the rest of my life for long lines unless i lose weight. Thing is it crept up on me. Even sitting for a few minutes helps. Is this not a health and safety issue?

We should fund a drive for wheel chairs or mobility scooters ( no age or mobility required to use one) Baskets attached and people could bring food and water.

I would help fund that.

But not being able to stand in line for hours creeps up on people, it did me, because when else are you in line for 7 hours. So you would not know. A pick up truck filled with folding chairs would help a great deal. Those with disabilities should be sussed out and helped to vote in an easier way before election day.

However I do have a bad back and would have a hard time standing for seven hours. The chairs sound good AND they only said food and water was a no no.

Lol...read a few Senators and Reps plan to go and hand out water.

It sounds like people should bring their own chair like you did for covid. Perhaps add a bottle of water to purse or backpack when anyone goes to vote.

... a jacket and blanket in case a cold breeze comes up, some reading material, headphones with good music or a talking book... the list is a long one. Gotta be prepared for an 8 hour wait in some places.

And don't forget one of these...

JHFC!!! Is this an election day or a goddam endurance contest? What is WRONG with this country?

This simply cannot stand!

The manager of the polling site emphasized to all that bathrooms were available in the building and that each person could return to his/her location in line following a break. And, if the person seeking a break could not get agreement with those in line about returning that person should flag down the poll manager (who was walking the line frequently).

in the most red area of a red state.

The Greenville County election commission provided an excellent voting operation including drive by voting for those with mobility problems. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience.

I'd be bringing tons of water and other drinks and some food and honey packets. And my meds. And my collapseable stool.

If the sun was blazing I would bring a beach umbrella that collapses very small use it as a walking stick until I need it and would always be willing to share. If a diabetic gets dehydrated thier sugar could drop and they'd pass out. Also when you get dry mouth from diabeties it gets so bad you cough your head off fast.

Diabetics need access to water period. They could die.
