Michigan: 53% surge in hospitalizations BUT none who were fully / partially vaccinated.

Across Michigan, hospitalizations of people infected with coronavirus rose 53% last week

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2021/03/29/michigan-covid-hospitalizations-rising-faster-than-fall/7052373002/

The good news

The very good news is that vaccinations are proving to be hugely successful for those who have been immunized so far.

[Michigan Health & Hospital Association] officials say they’ve heard no reports of hospitalizations among people who are fully or partially vaccinated.

In fact, COVID-19 cases among residents in Michigan’s skilled nursing facilities have dropped 96% since the start of the federal vaccination program for long-term care facilities in late December, according to the Health Care Association of Michigan. ...

(COVID-19 cases in Michigan nursing homes dropped 96%, deaths dropped 99% since late December)

Coronavirus cases among senior citizens in the general population also are plummeting, the data shows. Even as case numbers skyrocket among other age groups, the average number of daily new cases per capita is down 54% this month for ages 80 and older and down 26% for those in their 70s compared to the average rate for the first year of the pandemic. ...

Michigan's hot spot for new cases has been the conservative counties north of Detroit, an area known as the Thumb, a bastion of Trump voters that has been especially resistant to pandemic restrictions and mask mandates.

https://www.mlive.com/public-interest/2021/03/michigans-covid-19-numbers-increasing-at-troubling-pace-whats-going-on.html

The surge has been related to the UK B.1.1.7 strain and re-opening of schools, gyms, movie theaters, and indoor dining .

that I saw my first and only graffiti reading "Get the US out of the UN." That was in the late 1980s.

It was the first time I ever heard of anything like that. It looks like they don't want people like me around and I'm happy to oblige.

It tries to eat at a person that's been vaccinated but the food is tainted with vaccine.

So still hungry - it goes seeking the next best food from a person that's not been vaccinated.

0h - that person is wearing a mask. Too much work to get to the food in that person.

Aha!!! - Finally a person that's not vaccinated and not wearing a mask. An easy mark for a con artist like Covid.

You know - a Covid virus has got to eat.

after my second shot. The vaccine works well on the original virus and the UK variant, but not as well on the South African and Brazilian ones. As it continues to spread, who knows what new variants might develop?

I was wearing my mask and was going to keep it on unless I was eating. I expected the tables to be distanced. But the place was packed! When I said something to the server he said that they were groups, and yea there were several groups of 4 or 5.

But I felt so uncomfortable I got my food to go. I realize that I am very safe but I cannot help but think about transmitting the virus to someone else.

Sometimes it sucks to have a conscience.

who are worried about dying from the vaccine or whatever the ef they are worried about.

I tried to find similar evidence in my state. But, I can't find it.

It would be very helpful to try to convince some people I know who don't want to take the vaccine.

It would take some time. But, I hope someone will compile this data for every state.

The CDC should do this and promote it on tv and the radio.

I work with one. He's in his early 30s and has already had COVID and he said the flu he had 2019 was way worse. He also doesn't get flu shots btw. He said he will take his chances with getting it again versus a vaccine that was rammed through. He said after several years when we can understand the long term effects, if any, of the vaccine then he might get it but he's not going inject himself with something that we don't understand fully yet. Basically better the devil you know. He convinced multiple people at work here to do the same.

They can't lie about total deaths, which are tracked by the CDC here: [link:https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm|

So even if people died of Covid but were labeled as, say, heart attacks, a rise in the number of total deaths would mean that something else is going on, ie Covid. The charts on that CDC website can be re-set to focus on the US as a whole, or any particular state (to to where it says "Select a jurisdiction&quot . Florida's pattern shows that they have not yet returned to their average number of deaths per week, as many other states have. Note that the chart's results lag about 2-3 weeks from the eventual final totals, due to delays in reporting. So Florida's graph will only get worse.

I know 2 people who brought it back from Florida. Probably infected people on the plane, too. Florida has twice the population of Michigan, twice the infections and twice the death rate. But that's only the people that tested positive in FL or died in FL. Look at the states that are seeing a surge. All northern states where people tend to go south in the winter.

The people who get infected in Florida don't necessarily get counted in Florida. They go back to their home states and get counted there.
