Dr. Birx: Trump responsible for 450,000 American Deaths

"I look at it this way," Birx told CNN's Chief Medical Correspondent Sanjay Gupta. "The first time, we have an excuse. There were about 100,000

deaths that came from that original surge. All of the rest of them, in my mind, could have been mitigated or decreased substantially."

6. The ultimate responsibility stands with trump. None of those who were part of the Covid team,

including Dr. Fauci, were able to change trump's arrogance in dealing with the pandemic. Based on the Bob Woodward book, Rage, I am convinced of that.

Anyone who disagreed with his views were fired and asked to resign. This was also presented in Woodward's book.

The fact that scott atlas became his principle advisor in dealing with the pandemic only highlights just how deranged and irrational trump was and is.

That said, those that could, should have resigned from that Covid team, and made it clear they could not be part of this debacle, because it was not based on science.

I am convinced that nothing would have changed trump's mindset in dealing with the pandemic.

After the first 100000 deaths it should have been obvious to anyone just how lethal this virus was

"Donald Trump's mismanagement of this cost us 450,000 lives!" But I realize she wanted to avoid more death threats. We know what she meant, but stating it clearly would have been better.

those are on YOUR hands too, Dr. Scarfneck.

You could have resigned and, at the press conference either just before or just after resigning, stated that the "President" was a moron, and injecting bleach or putting a UV light in your lungs or taking Hydroxychloroquine were not just stupid, but dangerously stupid.

Dr. Deborah Birx, a respected physician and experienced diplomat who seemingly serves as a voice of reason in her role as coordinator of the White House’s coronavirus task force, raised a lot of eyebrows on Thursday with her effusive praise of President Donald Trump as “attentive to the scientific literature and the details” during an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network.

“He’s been so attentive to the scientific literature and the details and the data,” Birx said. “I think his ability to analyze and integrate data that comes out of his long history in business has really been a real benefit during these discussions about medical issues.”

Despite what Birx would have you believe, Trump has been pushing misleading and contradictory medical advice. On February 26, for instance, he claimed coronavirus cases would “be down to close to zero.” His claim was hard to swallow then, and barely a month later the US has more than 85,000 cases.

And then Birx remained silent

Birx should have resigned, as should others on the Pandemic team. Their advice was not only ignored, but trump did just the opposite

She said those later deaths could have been "mitigated, or decreased substantially." She didn't say all 450,000 could have been eliminated.
