Peter Rabbit is also a character from Beatrix Potter... he's not the Easter Bunny.

The Easter Bunny is referred to as "Peter Cotton Tail" ... and I think that's the only connection between the two.

An explanation of Easter in a French class among people from different cultures. One of my favorite things, ever. I went to a reading of his before the book came out and people were literally—and I mean that—falling all over themselves laughing.

7. Rabbits are mammals; they don't lay eggs. The Easter Bunny just delivers them.

I don't know where the Easter Bunny gets the eggs - probably from Easter Chickens. In any event, eggs and rabbits are pagan fertility symbols that got co-opted for Easter as symbols of resurrection, just like evergreen trees and Christmas.
