1. No real explanation for the delays.

I'm one of the fortunate recipients who received on the first roll out. I'm not a filer. So there really isn't any consistency regarding that criteria. My neighbors are in the same exact economic situation, living solely on our Social Security.

Why I received mine, as well others in the village, but NOT every one here is very puzzling, especially since the filing status is almost to a person the same.

I'll text my friend to let her know it might appear on the 7th. So, thanks for that info,

My mom is a non filer and has had Payment Status Not Available this whole time. So she’ll be happy. SS is her only income. I assume they will also have her correct direct deposit info. It changed since the last direct deposit.

Because some federal benefit recipients do not file tax returns, the IRS did not have in its tax systems the current information needed to generate the Economic Impact Payments. Last year, the IRS took the unprecedented step to receive and review data from other federal agencies and use that data to deliver payments automatically to these recipients. This action – which had never occurred in previous stimulus efforts – minimized risk and burdens for the American public during the pandemic. Due to regular changes in the federal benefits population, the IRS needed to receive updated information this month from other government agencies. With these critical updates, eligible federal benefit recipients who don't normally file an income tax return will get a payment automatically in the next few weeks.

Making these automatic payments to federal beneficiaries involves a complex, multi-step process to handle recipient data from the other agencies. For the first round of Economic Impact Payments last year, recipients in these groups received payments within four to six weeks after the CARES Act was signed into law. For the American Rescue Plan signed March 11, the IRS projects that it is on track to deliver Economic Impact Payments to federal beneficiaries at the same or faster speed

They should have been clear about what was causing the delay; it would have saved many a ton of anxiety and stress.

I got mine last Friday, as a debit card. Which was fine by me, except that it took some time for it to be accepted by vendors, even many hours after activating it by phone.

roll out. My neighbors in the village are virtually the same. low income non filers. all on SS direct deposit monthly payments.

This excerpt's point as I understand it essentially explains the issue of delays was essentially caused by non-filers not filing last year or the year before.

Am I misunderstanding what the irs is saying?

I can imagine scenarios that explain the exceptions, such as yourself. But by-and-large, it explains the situation for most others.

Did you receive it via Direct Express, or to your bank?

I still don't understand the hang-up. I got the last 2 payments rapidly and everything is the same on my end. I'm still old, poor and still in the system just like I have been for years. All of the so-called explanations seem lame to me.

heads of the SSA and IRS. I don’t buy the explanation that the American Rescue Plan had no appropriations for the transfer. They did it fine when Congress called them on it.

Like all Rs, and especially Trump-appointees, their goal is to destroy the institution that they are put in charge of. No doubt Saul has contempt for SS recipients and delights in their suffering.

I am counting the days til Biden is able to wrest back control of the SSA, and place it in compassionate, competent hands.

It definitely crossed my mind that Saul wanted to attempt to make President Biden look bad. Or just wanted to be cruel.

I got a letter last week saying I would get my "second $600" stimulus payment by March 27. the words "second $600" was in a different font like it had to be filled in. I kind of thought it was left over from the last time, (second payment in January). I could find nothing online about 600 payments this time. Guess I will see.....

Also, I also got my first 2 quickly, and this time, no deposit at all. I don't make enough to file taxes either, but they used the account with my VA DIC check the first two times, not my account for my SS check, which I thought was weird.
