(14,118 posts)than one source. Today I set up my appointment for my Moderna jab two days from now and I still plan to mask, distance and sanitize after that. Just because I plan to survive.

(31,217 posts)I've been vaccinated for over a month and it has freed me to go places again, but I'm still wearing a mask, washing my hands, avoiding crowds, etc.
I may continue wearing a mask for the rest of my life, as many Asian people do. My theory is there will always be another bug coming down the pike, plus it may protect me and others from other more common bugs that won't kill a person, but will cause misery regardless. So why not?
The best thing about being vaccinated is the huge load that fell off me when I realized that fucking trump was not going to kill me. knowing that even if i do get covid, it will not kill me.

(6,801 posts)(and no due respect to the anti-maskers) this is exactly what the anti-maskers complain about - contradictory information. Yesterday she was fearful of the increase in numbers and the variants and today she's reporting this news.

(5,653 posts)only a relatively small percentage have been vaccinated. What I took away was her frustration that we are so close yet people are becoming lax, and she said she didnt want to see people dying with an appointment vaccine for the next week.
I dont find it contradictory.

(31,217 posts)a vaccinated person can still get the virus; if they do, does this mean they aren't contagious? If you get virus on your fingers does it just fall off? I'm all vaccinated and I'm still washing my hands assiduously and wearing a mask when I go out.
"does not carry the virus" - i need a lot more information than that.
