Think about that.

(156,619 posts)That makes Chauvin's guilt even more obvious, to me, anyway.

(97,620 posts)Today was heartbreaking as each one gave testimony in tears. It was hard to watch.

(81,252 posts)Even when the EMTs showed up, Chauvin kept strangling Floyd.
And had to be forcibly removed.
This seems like a murderer who was emotionally involved in some way with killing Floyd.
Almost personal perhaps.

Will be hard for Chauvin to claim he was not aware of what he was doing.

(81,252 posts)that led to this cold blooded murder.
Chauvin's testimony will be coached and rehearsed to the nth degree.
He will say he felt his life was in danger.
That is what they all say.

(27,834 posts)And you know the prosecution is going to ask why they dragged George Floyd out of that police car, AFTER they had him cuffed. They can't say they were going to further restrain him (legs) since Chauvin knelt on his neck for 9 minutes while his lackeys stood guard.
Irish_Dem
(81,252 posts)But yes. It will be hard for the defense to explain away the facts you state.

(22,694 posts)Of the 9 you. She said they asked him nicely and he didn't move, they had to tell him to get off so they could get Floyd onto the gurney.
The push appeared to be just a hand on the shoulder, hard to tell how much force was applied.

(18,828 posts)It just seems too emotionally charged for it not to have been personal. I hope the prosecution pursues that line.

He sounds like a serial killer allowed on the force, a damn shame

(20,589 posts)I seem to recall that they had previously worked together as bouncers at some night club in the area. Chauvin was off duty, of course, but I also seem to recall there was some friction between the two.
I may be mistaken about this, but it really sticks in my head that this is the case.

(25,816 posts)they had both worked as security at some nightclub. Chauvin did it as an after hours gig.
Perhaps there was some strain between them from that. Competing for hours?
Does anyone know anything about that?

(833 posts)Three are murderers; one is an accessory to murder.
I wonder what police force trains its officers to behave like this. I believe that not one of them does. I wonder how many police departments allow this kind of thing and does nothing to rid itself of such officers. My guess is that many of them do.

They call it "Killology" telling the forces that they're the thin blue line between community and chaos, and it's more important for them to go home after shift than it is for the criminals they may have to kill.
Since anyone can be a criminal, and their jobs are to protect property and big time taxpayers, than the police supposedly have a duty to get rid of minor criminals before they become bigger criminals. Get the losers and thugs off the streets, one way or another. Protect your brothers in blue and those what pay you.
According to these "trainers", that's the most important job the police have.

If the jury doesnt convict him of murder, they would never convict a cop of that.

(97,620 posts)I just saw a man murdered. No wonder Chauvin was wringing his hands yesterday...over and over. Reminded me of Lady Macbeth.
"The Lady Macbeth Effect describes a psychological condition in which people who have done something wrong feel a need to wash their hands or body in order to clear their conscience. They tend to think that physical cleanliness can be a substitute for moral purity.Jun 13, 2010

(26,856 posts)they'd handcuffed him.
That seems ridiculous if he's just sitting there? And then doing what they did almost seems as deliberate excuse to then kill him if it was directed by Chauvin.
Am I making sense here? 🙁

(6,122 posts)they were pushing him and trying to force him in the car. He began saying he was claustrophobic and could not breathe. He was very upset and begging them not to force him in the car. He appeared to be having a panic attack. He said hed been shot before and to please not shoot him.
At some point they forced him into the car and handcuffed him. He was all but crying about not being able to breathe. I hope someone will explain why they didnt just get him in the car and leave. Then for some reason, they pulled him out and eventually got him on the ground. Two of the officers held his legs, feet and back and Chauvin began pressing on his head/neck area. Mr. Floyd said he couldnt breathe multiple times, that his stomach was hurting, everything was hurting. He cried out repeatedly for his mother. He groaned loudly. Chauvin remained firmly in place, leaning his knee on Floyds neck. By standers said his eyes were rolling back in his head and his facial color changed. Eventually Floyd grew quieter. By standers were begging Chauvin to stop, that Floyd was in trouble and appeared to be dying. The other policemen did nothing. Even a 9 year old child said they asked nicely for Chauvin to stop but he did not.
An off duty EMT came by and offered to attend to Floyd. She was rebuffed. As she testified, she cried describing how she could tell Mr. Floyd needed help. It was heartbreaking to hear her explain how she felt not being allowed to try to give him CPR.
This whole case is heartbreaking. Mr. Floyd did do something wrong that day by passing a counterfeit $20.00 bill (not sure if he knew it was counterfeit) and was under the influence of something. But he did not deserve what happened to him. It was murder, pure and simple. Chauvin appears cold and uncaring in the several videos. The other policemen did nothing To stop it from happening. No one should look at the video of this killing and assume this is proper police conduct. It was a cold blooded murder. Chauvin acted as judge, jury and executioner. I hope we find out why he thought he had that right.

(26,856 posts)When I mentioned I didn't know that they had him in the car first, then pulled him out...
I have No Doubt that Chauvin murdered Mr Floyd once we all saw what he did (along w the others guarding Chauvin) that day, or the next.
The fact that he hauled him out to then put that knee choke on Mr Floyd- to me is that it's almost (if not) premeditated - do you think so?
They went to all that trouble to get him in the
car - then Chauvin goes and does that.
