Personally I have like 1000 times huger of a problem with an adult who's into 7 year olds vs one who's into 17 year olds.

I have this thing though about accuracy in terminology, and people kinda 'watering down' the actual horror of real terms like 'racist' or 'pedophile' by deploying them when they're not necessarily accurate for the situation.

In case you didn't notice, the discussion you jumped into was about 'pedophile' vs 'hebephile' or 'ephebophile', in the case of the unknown ex-friend of the poster I responded to.

I was pointing out the correct term, and mentioning that attraction to 7 year olds is considerably more problematic in my mind than attraction to 17 year olds.

I honestly can't understand arguing otherwise. But then, sometimes other peoples opinions don't entirely make sense to me ... such is life.

FYI, 18 U.S.C. § 2423 makes it illegal to travel between states to have sex with an underage person or transport an underage person you are having sex with between states, EVEN IF THE AGE OF CONSENT IN THAT STATE IS LOWER THAN 18.
