Ohio Republicans try to make vaccine passports illegal.

Vaccine passports have been met with pushback in some states across the U.S. On Tuesday in Ohio, two Republican state lawmakers moved forward to introduce legislation prohibiting their use.

Representatives Al Cutrona and Mike Loychik said they are working to co-sponsor legislation to prohibit entities from requiring proof of a COVID-19 vaccination to allow people access into an area or establishment.

"Ohioans are encouraged to take the COVID-19 vaccine for the health and well-being of themselves and others," Cutrona said in a statement on Tuesday. "However, a vaccine should not be mandated or required by our government for our people to integrate back to a sense of normalcy. We've had restrictions on our freedoms for over a year and more restrictions or mandates are not the answer to every issue related to COVID-19."

The statement comes amid growing buzz for the use of vaccine passports, a form of digital documentation that would allow Americans to show they have been inoculated against the coronavirus.

Hey dumbfucks, people are not going to want to do business in your state if it's perceived to be an unhealthy place. Just saying.

who pose a danger to other customers, which would include people who won't wear masks as well people who aren't vaccinated once the vaccines are available to everyone. If they can deny service to people without shirts or shoes, why not masks and vaccines?

Once the CDC recommends that businesses can open at full occupancy for people who are vaccinated, why shouldn't businesses be allowed to capitalize on that? This is an example of Republicans strangling businesses and taking their right to make business decisions away from them. All for what?

The Private Sector wants this. Arenas and concert halls and bars and clubs want this. Airlines and hotels want this.

They have every right as private businesses not to provide service or grant admission. When you buy a ticket to a concert or sporting event, you agree to the terms of the venue, whether you read them or not. Private businesses absolutely can set public health safety standards to protect their employees, customers, and prevent liability.

Insurance companies do not want pay out for you getting Covid at a restaurant or basketball game because you didn't get vaccinated.

Everyone who got vaccinated took pictures of their cards--I've seen hem on facebook. If you can hold up your phone to show an electronic ticket, you can show your vaccine card.

People who are registered to vote have to show ID to exercise their right to vote according to these people. Yet asking if they were vaccinated violates their rights to eat out?

The guy who wrote that autism paper blaming it on vaccines has a lot to answer for. Selfishness is dangerous and deadly when combined with willful ignorance.

I'm sure that this will be lifted after the crisis is over and will not be expanded to include things that we don't like.

Just like the Patriot act was lifted and never expanded.

When the REST OF US are putting in the hard work of giving it to them, THEY think they should be entitled to the same reward/praise/thank-you-for-being-a-good-citizen as the rest of us.

Herd Immunity is biologic socialism, POINT BLANK. These lazy and self serving idiots are kept safe from LITERAL DEATH by the actions of the rest of the group.

And and now they think they shouldnt have to be called out on it.
I fucking think not.

Europe wants people to have "passports" without people knowing how they qualify (vaccine, negative test, recent illness). This is going to be a hot topic this year.

for what? My non-compliant one expires after the deadline, so no DOMESTIC travel, etc...for me. Unhealthy state? Don't even get me started about how safe from gun nuts I feel, right?

https://www.dmv.org/oh-ohio/renew-license.php
"The OH BMV issues federally-compliant REAL ID driver’s licenses in addition to non-compliant licenses. As of October 1, 2021, only the REAL ID will function as federal identification for domestic travel and entry into federal and military buildings—a standard license will not after this date.

You have the choice to apply for a non-compliant license (being not so confident I'm really me ) or upgrade to a REAL ID license—we'll walk you through the requirements below. For more detail, visit the BMV's guide to REAL IDs."
