(14,757 posts)Dr. Fauci didn't storm out and quit either.
She may have had the same reasons not to. She wanted to be a part of the team to fight the virus, even if, to keep her job, she had to sit in silence and watch the former guy make a fool of himself. As Fauci did on many occasions.

(9,372 posts)I've seen the theory that she and Fauci were at least attempting to play good cop-bad cop to nudge him (in other words, treating him like a child, which did not succeed but was probably the only thing that had a chance of success.) Of course, playing the good cop, she looks weaker than Fauci playing bad cop. But a team is a team.

(22,882 posts)I don't care for some of the things Dr. Birx said (or didn't say), especially the clip of her praising Chump's attention to science (paraphrasing; I can't remember the exact words right now), but I also don't care for cthe way people are trying to throw her under the bus.
Pointing fingers at Dr. Birx or anyone else is a distraction from the fact that there is one real villain here, and that villain is Donald J. Trump.

It also covers the nose and mouth - and itis so revealing as to who one is dealing with.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
