vaccinated people are dangerous! Latest idiotic theory.

Every so often, we get emails from our crazy Covid-denying relatives. And here's the latest thing they told us: they're going to stay away from anyone who's been vaccinated because people who've been vaccinated are "dangerous" and can "spread diseases" to the unvaccinated.

This is in response to their being invited to a family wedding this summer. The bride and groom insist that everyone who attends must be vaccinated. Well, these crazy relatives are not coming because those of us who've had the shots are dangerous ... to THEM.

Has anyone else heard this? I can't quite figure out what disease we vaccinated people are supposed to be spreading.

that we got from our shots. And somehow that alien DNA can jump to them and make them ... um, sane?

I'm getting my second dose of alien DNA tomorrow and I can't wait.

Dumb ass at the hardware store was telling a 20-something clerk that he would not get a vaccine because Bill Gates was putting a micro chip in to track your every move. The clerk asked him if he had a phone, then stumped the Qanon moron with this quote: "Got a cell phone? They already know all about you and where you're at right now". The guy just looked up at the clerk and walked out, stunned at his own stupidity. It was glorious.

They are confusing it with routine vaccinations, and not just any routine vaccines - but routine vaccines with life attenuated virus, and not just that but the exposure has to be during the virus shedding period - and - it is only immunocompromised who are at risk (e.g. chickenpox).

This defense mechanism is responding to disapproval from an increasingly large majority. The RW's so well trained in this that the response has become like muscle memory, activated without conscious effort.

Bless their hearts, poor things, etc. All I can suggest is keeping the door open to a change mind, coaxing, being sympathetic, saying how much they'll be missed, etc. Someday this will mostly be past, and hopefully they won't be among the fringe who can't return to something like normality.
