Not to be confused with former Penn State assistant football coach and convicted sex offender Jerry Sandusky.

(3,039 posts)Not good stuff if the news is bad. Wonder if the inverse is true. Were a lot of Eugene Goodmans celebrated?
Its winning the negative lottery in (or close) name only.

(43,166 posts)Never met him, but he actually sent me a friend request on Facebook, and out of curiosity I accepted it.
With that, I caught a glimpse into my name twin's life and it turns out that he is...well, for lack of a better term, one of the trashiest people I have ever come across.
Guy looks completely out of it in all of his pictures. He'll share just about everything he comes across on Facebook. Mostly it's just stupid, pointless memes. He also posts lots and lots of pictures of beer; not specialized craft beers, mind you, but open cans of Coors Light that he has in his hand while he is driving. Yeah.
He once bragged about getting his driver's license re-instated.
His current profile picture is a meme of a cat with its tail between its legs mimicking a penis with the caption, "'Sup Ladies" written on it.
And, probably not surprisingly, he's a hardcore Trumpist, and is very happy to let people know about it.
I was more curious so I looked into my name twin's background, and it turns out he's a convicted felon. Served several years in prison for car theft, I believe it was.
A random car theft I guess I can deal with. I just hope that my name twin doesn't get any more bold with his criminal tendencies. God knows what would happen to me if it turns out this guy is a serial killer with 10 bodies buried in his basement.
Yet despite all this, I don't regret the fact that my name twin appears to be a tacky Trump-loving reprobate who is the polar opposite of everything I am; if anything, it makes me happy that he's out there, doing his own thing, and while I might not be the only person in the country with my particular name, the fact that he's my polar opposite still makes me feel unique.

(25,959 posts)Meanwhile... great link to the Independent article. Snagged this tidbit:
A video in which US Rep. Matt Gaetz, who is under investigation for alleged child sex trafficking, condemns former US Senate nominee Roy Moore for sexual assault allegations include two from people who were minors at the time, has resurfaced.
In the video, Mr Gaetz said If these [sexual] allegations are true, Roy Moore has no place in the Senate and no place in the Republican party.
The video isn't showing up for me, but I also found this:
https://www.pnj.com/story/news/politics/2017/11/10/matt-gaetz-says-if-roy-moore-allegations-true-he-shouldnt-free-walking-among-us/853156001/
Gaetz said he agreed with other Republicans that if the allegations made in a Washington Post report about former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore were true, he shouldn't be in the senate or the Republican party.
"I absolutely agree that if the allegations are, they are hideous," Gaetz said. "They are disgusting, and Roy Moore should step aside. And frankly, shouldn't be free walking among us."
All righty then.
