Video: Kroger's Corporate Greed

Kroger is trying to tamp down criticism over its corporate greed by announcing it will increase the base hourly pay of its employees to $16/hr.
Because Kroger workers have a union in UFCW, their pay is going up.
This is a good start, but Kroger must do more.

Kroger made a $2.6 billion profit LAST YEAR ALONE. It brags about finding $1 billion in “savings” every single year by operating “more leanly.” Nevertheless, it is still threatening to close stores in Long Beach, Seattle, and LA over hazard pay laws. Kroger’s workers in Southern CA have voted to authorize a strike. Workers, led by UFCW 770, UFCW 21 and other locals, are trying to negotiate better contracts for their workers and keep stores open.
