These latest videos of George Floyd show how *compliant* he was.

And the body camera footage doesn't show it but you can clearly see the officers body language is aggressive. And the body cam footage gives you an idea of what was really happening. Those officers were roughly tweaking George's arms, wrestling him around even as he was being fully compliant. They were intentionally, and aggressively, causing things to escalate with him, making him more uncomfortable.

This arrest wasn't just an arrest and an angry suspect, this was a full on assault for 45+ minutes, aggressively escalating the situation, treating George like dirt the entire time. Imagine you're being detained for something and the cop grabs your arm and tells you to get up, you, being fully compliant, think sure, and think the cop is helping you up, but instead he twists it forcefully and intentionally as you get up. Then, instinctively and because pain causes random reactions, you twist or turn or wince against this obvious, truly corrupt form of behavior, that is very difficult to see. Cop now has you for resisting. Then he escalates it further, binding your arm, twisting you, potentially even slamming you to the ground.

You will see later the body cam footage. It will be spun in all manners of ways. It is lengthy. Watch carefully. When he is initially pulled out of his car, he knows he's in trouble for the $20 bill (the cashier kept it and made him leave). He fully complies with the officers, even as they cuff him. He's forced completely into his car door (certainly not a comfortable position to be in with cuffs behind your back). They say "stop resisting!"

The entire time they're telling him to "stop resisting" but we can clearly see in the security cam footage that he is following their orders the entire, freaking time. And it ends with them forcefully tripping him on to the ground. But that's "resisting."

There's no question in my mind that cops in this country need aggressive retraining (and defunding) because they're nothing more than a gestapo.

George Floyd was tortured. Recognize this when they start playing the bodycam footage.

2. I've seen a lot of carnage--post-trauma blood & gore, but I cannot take these videos.

Seeing someone so callously and intentionally tortured & killed-- with onlookers frantically warning them of the pending outcome is more than I can handle.

My tears are for all who are now feeling the pain of "survivor guilt," and for whom their lives will never be the same. And, of course for all those who were close to George Floyd and forever bereft of his presence.

Watching a man's life calmly and coldly taken from him by these three cops is horrible, it is the most shocking and inhuman act of cruelty imaginable.
