Texas bill will DISALLOW driving of elderly, disabled, or poor people to the pollsLink to tweet ?s=21 Pam Keith, Esq. @PamKeithFL This isn’t just shitty and stupid... it’s unconstitutional The Hummingbird 🐦 @SaysHummingbird This is despicable. Make his name & face known. A bill by @SenBryanHughes will DISALLOW driving of elderly, disabled, or poor people to the polls -- making it illegal in Texas to drive vans with the elderly from nursing homes, disabled people, poor people who don’t have cars. ![]()

4. Please verify this --- it may be an exaggeration
Still bad, but not that bad, only applies to drive thru voting.
https://apnews.com/article/301d8df1557b486f8bde568edf562bc6 “It’s only if you are driving three or more people who are physically disabled who want to vote curbside from the polls, allowing them to vote from their car,” Sam Taylor, a spokesman for the Texas secretary of state’s office, told The Associated Press. In those cases, drivers would need to fill out a form providing their name, address, relationship to the voters and the reason for the transportation to the poll. |

Last edited Thu Apr 1, 2021, 09:22 AM - Edit history (1) but it's worth looking into whether the bill was filed and what happened to it.

9. What about the church vans?
Isn't there a large movement in parts of the country for churches to take voters to the polls in vans?

21. When I worked on my Democratic congressman's campaign
My "turf" consisted of several areas of senior housing. Some of them expressed a need for a ride to the polls, so on election day we showed up and drove them as promised, no questions asked, it's what you do.
