Fauci Defends Birx Against Attacks: People Should Cut Her Some Slack, She Was In a Tough Situation
By Marisa Sarnoff Mar 31st, 2021, 10:54 pm
Dr. Anthony Fauci defended Dr. Deborah Birx to Chris Cuomo on CNN Wednesday, telling him that people should consider her situation and cut her some slack.
You know, Chris, she was in a tough situation, Fauci told Cuomo, after the host asked whether Birx should have said more when she was part of the coronavirus task force during the administration of former President Donald Trump. You really need to understand, she was living in the White House. She had an office in the lower level of the West Wing. And I guess, obviously, you say she could have done more, but it was really tough on her. She was a military person. She understands the chain of command.
I think if you ask her now, she probably would say she should have done more, but you really need to cut her some slack, the way I do, Fauci added. She was in a tough situation.
Cuomo then asked Fauci the same question, whether he should have said more about Trumps misinformation about the coronavirus pandemic, even if it meant losing his job.

(29,732 posts)Try explaining how tough things were to families who lost loved ones to a disease that was made worse due to inaction and ineptitude on the part of a maladministration run by a madman.

That may be the only way to get their souls back after selling them to the orange headed face of evil.

(53,214 posts)......but no, I cannot cut her some slack. Her defense and enablement of Donald Trump was inexcusable and life-threatening to millions of Americans. If you are a scientist, you must be a scientist first and foremost. In a situation like this, I don't see how there is much room for compromise.
From the beginning, Birx seemed to enjoy the limelight far too much from my perspective. So when she unjustifiably defended Trump, I wasn't surprised.

I haven't lost anyone and I refuse to cut her any slack.
All of them should be prosecuted for causing the deaths of thousands of people in the U.S.
She praised Trump.
She refused to do her job because she wanted to please Trump.
Fuck that noise.
People need to be jailed for the massive death toll.
Why didn't they call a press conference and tell the American people what Trump
and his administration were doing ???
Just fuck her and all the enablers.
