... he admits to ominously paraphrasing a quote from the 1979 movie "The Warriors" but insists he wasn't threatening the House Speaker outside her office.
"Which Nancy am I talking about? I never said speaker of the house. Nancy Lopez? Maybe Nancy Reagan?" Garcia said, referring to one of his patio and roofing customers and the late first lady. "Is there proof I was talking about Nancy Pelosi? Can you prove it? Or anybody out there? I would love to see the proof. If someone can get in my head and tell me, hey, I'm talking about Nancy Pelosi, but no, I wasn't."
Oh, wow, that's smart!!! They cannot prove 100% that he meant Nancy Pelosi!!! Woooooooooooooow!!!!!
Except that the prosecutor doesn't need to provide 100% proof on ANYTHING. He just needs to provide proof "beyond a reasonable doubt".
(The courts have various levels of how strong a proof needs to be, depending on the legal situation at hand. All judges and all lawyers know these different standards of proof for different circumstances like the back of their hand. And "100% proof" doesn't exist in the US legal system.)
Is there reasonable doubt that he adressed the most famous Nancy of the US while knowing that she was within earshot? He said so himself in the interview: He wanted to make his voice heard. Heard by whom if not the Nancy in earshot?
