My mom in NC got called by an Obama campaign volunteer today

She lives in a rural part of the state that doesn't get much attention.

She's not usually into politics but told the volunteer who called that she appreciated the call and she's going to vote for Obama. Then she was asked if she would volunteer to do what the person on the phone was doing. She said yes!

My mom has never volunteered for a campaign in her life. And now she will be making calls to GOTV for President Obama!

Had to share because it made my night. Team Obama is committed to winning NC, and now my mom is helping.

how much passion is out there to reelect the President.

Never thought she would do this in a million years.

I think the debate last night was the spark that lit the fuse.

Thank your Mom for all of us! My Nana was a poll volunteer in the 70s & 80s, while she was a senior citizen who was also herself in her 70s & 80s. She passed when she was in her late 90s.

We all have such a capacity for good & your Mom is a shining example for us all.

Thank you for updating us about the NC GOTV activities.

This is yet another way we can see how important a great ground game truly is.

Your post reminds us all how very important this election is for Americans of all ages.

it tells me they live in the small towns, suburbia and the big urban centers. Honestly, VeepBiden had it right when he looked into the camera and said "USE YOUR COMMON SENSE" That's what your mom and I have in common. Voting for PBO and DEMS all down ticket is simply common sense.

Nothing phony about it. Issues needing to be addressed are duly noted and compiled. A lot of voters really need to vent and often ask what they can do to help. My understanding is that the Romney campaign is not reaching out in any way to the average voter.

I live in GA, and neither campaign has been doing a lot of advertising. Thankfully I live in a blue oasis in this red state.

Democrats are the October surprise! And when Obama wins even after they've lied, tried to steal votes, tried to keep people from voting, harassed people, and only registered Republicans it is going to be a sweet sweet day.

then her health took a turn for the worse. But she still sends a bit of money and loves to hear me rant about the Repugnants and Mi$$ RobMe. We are the only Dems in the family. I took her Obama and Sherrod Brown yard signs.
